Summary of The Fair Work Act

Summary of The Fair Work Act

This summary provides an overview of The Fair Work Act, which is the main legislation governing the employee/employer relationship in Australia.

They provide a safety net of minimum entitlements, enable flexible working arrangements and fairness within the work space.  These 'laws' are set out in the 'National Employment Standards' - a set of 10 minimum employee entitlements which must be provided for all employees.

As an employer (or an employee), it is vital you have sufficient knowledge of these regulations to enable and promote a fair and reasonable working environment.
