Site Analysis and Preparation

Site Analysis and Preparation

Site analysis is a preliminary phase of building design whereby factors such as the geographical, climatic, legal and historical features of a site are gathered in order to determine how a development responds to the opportunities and constraints of a specific site.

The characteristics of a building site will determine many aspects of a building's design, therefore it is necessary to analyse the land being built upon to identify its potential and possible restrictions.

This information will allow the building surveyor to maximise the site’s potential and minimise any negative impacts the building work may cause.
